Northrop Jazz: Live at the Campus Club

On
October 22, change is in the air with jazz singer Somi, as she splits the evening with local jazz vocalist, Thomasina. The new event is a
reinvigorated, more focused launch of a new concept - we're calling it Northrop Jazz: Live at the Campus Club.
Why the new venue? It's more intimate with that oh-so-smooth atmosphere,
perfect for a truly authentic jazz experience...we're talking full bar and
special menu to make the evening complete, with ceiling-to-floor window views
of that spunky downtown Minneapolis skyline. It's also about celebrating local
talent, along with our international stars - we're pairing global musicians
with local emerging artists with two separate, one-hour shows...locally grown
talent, right?

Somi
brings her New African Soul, a pairing of her African roots and jazz, to
her hour-long set. She'll be accompanied by guitar and piano. Echoing
Somi's strong character, Thomasina is not one to be left in the shadows - she
started her own label, called Thomasina Productions. Accompanied by piano, her
sound reminds listeners of jazz singing icon, Billie Holiday.

We're bringing it back to the music, to the experience, to
the way a jazz show should feel. We hope you'll go on this re-envisioning
journey with us.
