Give to the Max Day

Something exciting is happening in the world of online philanthropy.
Last year, more than 42,000 donors logged on to giveMN.org for a record-breaking 24 hours
of unfettered generosity-Give to the Max
Day
.

No matter who you are or where you come from, if you're
reading this you must have some interest in dance, in Northrop. The work of
dance and the work of Northrop would not be possible without the contributions
of generous individuals.

Give to the Max
Day
gives any and everyone the chance to contribute to non-profits in a
meaningful and impactful way. Non-profits all over the state compete on one day
to raise the most money, and the top two are rewarded with prize grants of
$15,000 and $5,000. Additionally there are $1,000 grants added to a random gift
every hour. Any gift (maybe yours?!?) may be selected to be bolstered with an
additional $1,000 from generous matching organizations around the state.

The fact that the whole state can mobilize around a single
opportunity like this is evidenced in history. Last year alone, thousands of
donors came together and gave over $10 million to Minnesota charities in one
day. 24 hours. 1,440 minutes. 86,400 seconds. I, for one, am excited about
that. It's a day when Minnesotans rally together and demonstrate how support
from everyday citizens, aggregated together, can sustain the public good.

Non-profits need you, Northrop needs you. Even if you have
only $10 to give, head over to giveMN.org
and contribute to your favorite organization (I hope that's Northrop, but even
if it isn't). Who knows, that $10 might even lead to your organization winning
a $1,000 prize grant.
