Who says the Minne-apple is the lesser sibling of the Big
Apple? We bring the essence of New York to our favorite Minne-apple-tans May
4-8 with Nicholas Leichter Dance's
urbanized spunky version of The Whiz: Moneyapolis. It's dance. It's song.
It's theatre. It's SHOWBIZ, baby! Combining sounds of funk and hip-hop with
Obama politics, throwing in a seasoning dash of drag, psychedelic, house, postmodern,
and contemporary, this evening-length performance discourages labels and
embraces all else.

Another exciting aspect of this show is the venue. We've got
a new experience for you with Intermedia Arts. In their own words, they are
"Minnesota's premier multidisciplinary, multicultural arts organization." Their
mission? "To be a catalyst that builds understanding among people through art."
Northrop's mission is all about engaging a community through the performing
arts we present, so we think our organizations' missions blend pretty well - and
we hope you think so, too.
