How many of you go out to La Conga and the Loring Pasta Bar
for evening salsa dancing? Well how about you come to the Northrop Plaza on
Fri, Jul 9 at 7:00 pm for salsa band Charanga Tropical?!
No, that is not a fruity mixed drink - even though their harmonically rich and
infectiously rhythmic sound inspires visions of mojitos and Caribbean sunsets.
It is actually a FREE concert! And for all those salsa loving dancers, Charanga
is a style of popular Cuban dance music of the 1940s, characterized by the use
of violins and flutes along with percussion instruments, piano, bass and
vocals.

Charanga
Tropical
is a nine-piece band including musicians from Cuba, Brazil, Mexico,
and the United States. They know how to fill a dance floor and start a party!
And what's a party without food and refreshments? Qdoba will be there dishing
out FREE samples! And you can wash it all down with a beverage from our outdoor
concession stand!

So you will not only get spicy food, you will also get a
variety of son, salsa, cha cha cha, and timba! Come out and join the band that
was named "Best of the Cities" by Minnesota
Monthly
! Let's get saucy!
