Tania Perez-Salas

I have not attended Northrup events since I was a student at the U Of M. From what I experienced 09/24 with Tania's Dance Company and festivities associated with it, I have missed alot. The performance , food and music outside as well as great weather made for a perfect evening. Everything was reasonably priced from the Groupon ticket of $14 to the $2 tacos. Loved it! I will be back.

fabulous performance

This was one of the best programs I've seen in a while. They were great! Bring them back soon.

Exceptional Dance Event!

We are pleasantly surprised and felt lucky to be part of this wonderfully orchestrated Celebration of the first Northrop event of the season and the Independence of Mexico. We will strongly recommend everybody to see this show. Bravo! Thank you Tania Pérez-Salas and your Compañia de Danza to share with us 3 so different yet so nicely performed choregraphies by your dancers!

Tania Perez-Salas Compania de Danza

It was one of the most sensual, flowing dance performances I have seen in a while. I was mesmerized by all thee pieces. Thank you Northrup for your bold presentation.

Ths second piece in the

Ths second piece in the evening was so disimilar from the other two, I have a hard time understanding this reaction. I could see some kind of case for the first and third being similar in content/male female dynamic and relationships overall as represented in the choreography.
But the second was a serious and important departure.

For me, the second piece felt urgent and Now and I felt it in my heart and my mind as a brilliant piece worth the whole evening.

Wonderful program. Creative,

Wonderful program. Creative, energetic, terrific corps. And well done tie-ins with plaza events and Mexican community. Bravo.

For a program that long, I'd be much happier, if it started at 7:30.
They were great. Bring them back!

Choreography and performances were great, and my seat was fine; however, there was a certain dark, filmy similarity among the pieces, and the lighting was all dark...so I found it hard to stay awake. I left early in the third piece, because I was falling asleep and needed to be alert to drive home safely.

Thanks!

We loved the festivities before the performance and during the intermissions (thanks for the delicious food and drink!) and the performance. It's been a long time -- maybe since Cloud Gate? -- that I've seen an evening of dance that was so visually stunning. It was as much installation art as dance. Just gorgeous.

Great Party

We really enjoyed the party before and after the event...great idea!

The show had alot of similar qualities from De La Guarda, Villa Villa which is showing in NY. Same water concept, same walking choreography concept. Wonder if the choreographer had input on that show.

As far as the seats, terrible site lines everywhere. Very disappointing to not be able to see the full effect of the dancers. I could only follow one dancer at a time and I had my own bit of choreography with the person in front of me. Her head went left, mine went right...her head went right, mine with left. Very frustrating.

I wish we could agree with

I wish we could agree with the previous writers. I did think the lighting in the second dance was well done and interesting.
However, all three dances were very much the same, it was like seeing the same dance over and over.
The last dance in the water was a new idea, with the same movements. Our seat mate said it all, "Synchronized swimming for the non-swimmer"

Bravissimo!!!

What a fantastic start of this season! We were mesmerized throughout the performance. The other comments summed it up well. I don't know what to rave about more: the choreography, the dancers, the music, or the sets; they were all exquisite! My only complaint is htat we haven't seen them here before! I can't wait to see what is in store for us next!

Thank you!

bEST PERFORMANCE IN YEARS!

That was fantastic! Tania Salas-Perez company set a high bar for the rest of the season. Every one of the dancers was a suberb performer. The lightening and sound were excellent and the choreography creative and memorable. Rivals my memory of some other great evenings at the Northrop.

What a tremendous

What a tremendous evening--the prepreformance party was fun and a pleasant surprise for us "out of staters". And the Tania Perez-Salas Compania de Danza was stunning--the creativity of choreography and stage settings/lighting, the energy and precision of the dancers, and the perfect selection of music made for a "not to be missed" evening. Thank you for bringing the dance company here and for arranging a full evening of entertainment.

My husband and I loved every

My husband and I loved every moment last night. The pre-party music and food were both terrific. And the choreography, music, energy, beauty, precision of the Tania Perez-Salas dancers--all of it--were sublime! What an engaging night. We wanted to see every dance again and again. Thank you. Please bring them back!

It was a wonderful and unique

It was a wonderful and unique performance by Tania Perez-Salas Dance Company, love the combination of classical music with modern dance, and the wind and water effects against the lighting and the diverse music.

Thank You, for bringing the performance to the Twin Cities.
