Community Engagement

We believe the arts are essential to the human experience, and creating opportunities that bring the arts we present beyond the walls of Northrop and into our communities is a top priority. We bring together world-class artists, innovative academic learning tools, engaged partners, and community leaders for art making and sharing experiences throughout the Twin Cities and across the region. Whether partnering with a local organization and a contemporary dance group from France to present a break dancing workshop, or an elementary school with a ballet company from Pittsburgh for a book reading session with a ballerina, our goal is the same: to create a mutually inspiring engagement experience!

We support a number of activities with Visiting Artists, and with U of M students and U of M faculty and staff, including our Northrop Across Campus program, lectures, workshops, contests, pop-up exhibits and performances, and other arts-related events.  To start a conversation about collaborations, or potential engagements, please contact Tumelo Khupe, Campus and Community Engagement Coordinator at khupe002@umn.edu.

For additional information about the Northrop Across Campus program, contact us at nacampus@umn.edu.

Help provide access to life-changing arts experiences on campus and in our community.
