Alpha Centauri's other-wordly indie-rock

Alpha Centauri stays true to the solar system tendencies
indicated by their constellation name. Drawing on a large solar system sound,
their music is hard to wrestle a definition over. While listening to them, I
was reminded of The Flaming Lips, Postal Service, and Radiohead all at once,
yet this Minneapolis band plays into depths far beyond a "sound-alike" band.
And the Twin Cities' most-lovable radio stations seem to agree - we're
partnering with the U of MN's Radio K and MPR's The Current to bring you this
show. Both stations will have a presence at the noon concert tomorrow, so be
sure to stop by their tables for free stuff that any music junkie will love.

Come to the free show tomorrow, and open up your musical
horizons. With electronic synthesizers, an eclectic variety of instruments, and
surreal sound, Alpha Centauri has danced their way into my music universe and
my iPod's playlist, and hopefully will yours.
