Historic Pipe Organ Tour Following “The Circus”

Following the screening of “The Circus” featuring improvised, live organ accompaniment by Aaron David Miller, embark on a tour of our grand Aeolian-Skinner Opus 892 organ. Guided by Northrop Organ Advisory Board members, this behind-the-scenes look at our historic instrument reveals the mechanical marvel behind the music just experienced with the silent film. Visit the nearly 7,000 pipes in the organ loft high above the Carlson Family Stage — behind the proscenium arch medallion screens — and get a close-up view of the console.

This experience will begin when the film ends, at approximately 4:30 p.m., and is available to the first 20 people who register. The tour will last approximately 45 minutes and requires steep stair-climbing and low-heeled, closed-toe shoes. Participants will enter through the backstage doors on Northrop’s Ground Floor East and gather in the Hubbard Broadcasting Rehearsal Studio before the tour.
