Escape the summer heat with a cool tour of our historic pipe organ! Guided by Northrop Organ Advisory Board members and with Northrop Organist Greg Zelek playing the tunes, this behind-the-scenes look at our majestic Aeolian-Skinner Opus 892 organ reveals the incredible inner workings of a true musical landmark. Visit the nearly 7,000 pipes in the organ loft high above the Carlson Family Stage — behind the proscenium arch medallion screens — and get a close-up view of the console’s stops and manuals as the notes ring out.
This experience is available to the first 40 people who register and requires steep stair-climbing and low-heeled, closed-toe shoes. Participants will enter through the East (Church Street) Entrance to the Carlson Family Stage. The event will last approximately 90 minutes and attendees may be asked to sign a photo/video release.
