Take your students on more than just a field trip — give them a chance to experience the energy, spirit and community of the bustling University of Minnesota campus! A student favorite, this rousing and joyful indoor concert offers interactive engagement with the University of Minnesota Marching Band, one of the oldest and most celebrated collegiate bands in America.
Known as “The Pride of Minnesota,” this 320-plus ensemble has played at the Super Bowl halftime show twice, most recently with Justin Timberlake. They bring the same Super Bowl-level flair to this exciting performance of fall 2026 halftime hits, featuring everyone’s favorite mascot, Goldy Gopher! Through inspiring age-appropriate musical selections, participatory cheers and astounding movement, students will learn about different instruments and marching band roles in a welcoming university environment.
Inspire young learners to get involved in their own school band (or to keep practicing!) in this fun, action-packed matinee illustrating the power of unity, teamwork and Minnesota pride!

- Cost: Free for all students and chaperones!
- Ticket reservations are at capacity. Waitlist registration is available on the waitlist registration form.
- Note: The University of Minnesota Safety of Minors adult-to-student ratio applies to all Northrop Student Matinees, so please communicate your ticket totals, including both the number of student tickets and the number of teacher/chaperone tickets requested. Learn more about our Student Matinee policies.
*There is a per-school cap of 200 seats for Student Matinee: Marching Band Indoor Concert.
