Dorrance Dance with Toshi Reagon and BIGLovely

The Blues ProjectWith live music

One of the hottest tap artists of her generation, Bessie Award winner Michelle Dorrance makes her Northrop debut in an explosive show that blasts open our notions of tap with every stomp, stamp, and shuffle. Dorrance performs with her company of extraordinary dancers, featured soloists Derick K. Grant and Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, and stirring, soulful music performed live onstage by renowned folk and blues composer Toshi Reagon and her band BIGLovely. Don’t miss this stellar evening of rhythmic invention, off-beat humor, and tap virtuosity.

Performance run time is 60 minutes, with no intermission.

Michelle Dorrance was recently named a MacArthur "Genius" Fellow, and honor that will provide her with $625,000 over five years to continue her important and inspirational pursuits.

Dorrance was also featured on "The Late Show" were she both performed with John Batiste & Stay Human and taught Stephen Colbert the Shim Sham!
