Unnatural Disasters: How Law Hurts, How Law Helps

University of Nebraska Law Professor Sandra Zellmer takes a look at unnatural disasters—catastrophic environmental events that human populations have caused or influenced—and how the law can both help and hinder prevention and recovery. In addition to her studies of water, environmental, and natural resource law, Professor Zellmer is involved in wilderness management and has made contributions to dozens of legal and environmental texts and journals, including notable studies on the Mississippi River, making her examination of how humans impact the environment, and the law’s response and responsibility, both timely and relevant to the Midwest and the rest of the nation.
