Performance Previews have always been a unique additional
engagement opportunity for Northrop Dance patrons. This year, we're launching a
brand new and improved Performance
Preview series
that will blow you away. Here are 5 reasons to add them to
your evening plans:

1.) Carl Flink and
Emily Plauché Flink.
We're thrilled to announce that Carl and Emily will lead our entire 2011-12
Performance Preview series
with their hands-on knowledge and expertise of dance.
The recognized and award-winning husband-and-wife duo has a long list of dance and choreography
experience, and will provide pointed and insightful discussion points to aid
the conversation. Carl is also the Chair and Nadine Jette Sween Professor of
Dance with the University of Minnesota Department of Theatre Arts & Dance. Both
founded Black Label
Movement
, have been awarded the prestigious McKnight Choreographer and
Dancer Fellowships, and have danced with the Limón Dance Company, as well as
Donald McKayle, Phyllis Lamhut, and Garth Fagan.

2.) Meet the Artists.
Performance Previews exist to give you a VIP entrance into the performances
you love, and to see what goes on behind the stage and in the minds of the
dancers, choreographers, and artistic staff. It also gives you the chance to
directly interact with these people on a level hard to find anywhere else.

3.) Simplicity of
location.
Solera is right
next door to the Orpheum Theatre, making it easy and convenient. You'll only
have to park once, and once the preview is finished, you can simply walk next
door in plenty of time for the show. Normally, our Performance Previews filled
up quickly, with little space for standing room. Now we have plenty of room and
high-top tables for comfortable sitting and standing.

4.) Drinks and light
snacks for purchase.
Along with the ease of Solera's location, there will
also be the bonus of drinks and light snacks available for purchase to tide you
over until the show. Solera's Preview menu will be available starting 30
minutes prior to the start of the Performance Preview time, so come early, eat,
drink, relax, and then be engaged.

5.) Extended time. In
the past, we've held Performance Previews for 30 minutes, which never felt like
enough! This year we're giving you a full 45 minutes to explore and converse about the art you love.

We look forward to seeing you there!
