Northrop Organist Greg Zelek and School of Music faculty member Preston Duncan team up for a genre-blending concert featuring the dynamic duo of pipe organ and saxophone. Experience an enticing mix of works written specifically for both instruments, along with bold, new arrangements of beloved classics.
The program includes the tango-influenced rhythms of Astor Piazzolla, the soaring melodies of Max Bruch, and reimagined Gershwin tunes, plus beloved jazz selections such as Misty and In a Sentimental Mood. There will also be a piece performed by a saxophone quartet comprised of Prof. Duncan's School of Music students. This one-of-a-kind concert will showcase the stunning versatility and virtuosity of two world-class performers and instruments.
An approximately 20-minute Q&A with Zelek and Duncan will follow the performance.
