Servicing the Northrop Business Development & Customer Support team, the freelance Temporary Graphic Designer elevates Northrop's brand by designing captivating print and digital materials. The freelancer collaborates with the Creative Director to uphold branding standards and deliver high-impact marketing, education, engagement, fundraising and operational assets — utilizing an acute eye for detail and expertise in both typography and layout. Key responsibilities include designing and producing materials using Adobe Creative Cloud, managing multiple projects and timelines via Asana, organizing files and sourcing budget-conscious print production.
Qualified applicants must have a degree in graphic design plus two years of relevant work experience (or four to six years of combined education/experience); advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud; access to a computer with internet and software; pre-press experience; and strong collaboration skills.
This flexible freelance role — beginning mid-September 2026 through late-January 2027 (20 weeks) — is 15 hours per week and hybrid (Monday-Friday, between 7 a.m.-6 p.m., with at least one day per week in person at Northrop). Pay range: $29.66 an hour, depending on education/qualifications/experience.

The Northrop Artistic Programs Intern will assist the Artist Services Manager, Education Programs Managerand the Artistic & Community Programs department with Northrop Presents event administration, planning and execution. Job duties include: working Northrop Presents events and Student Matinees; assisting with K-12 programs and administrative tasks as assigned; creating and updating overview spreadsheets and artist itineraries for Northrop Presents events; entering events into Northrop's archival database; assisting with artist hospitality and transportation; participating in departmental research and evaluation work; and other duties as assigned and deemed necessary in contributing to the mission of Northrop and activities of the department.
This is a temporary, part-time UMN student position, appointed for approximately 10 hours per week, with up to 15 hours as needed for occasional event weeks. Pay is $15.25/hour. This position requires a currently enrolled UMN student with at least 2 semesters completed as a full-time student and availability to work occasional evening and weekend events. Must have a valid driver's license. The preferred start date is Sept. 14, 2026.
