Communications Intern

The Communications Intern is a member of the Business Development & Customer Support team who assists with and leads a variety of projects that support the mission, vision, and values of Northrop while participating in opportunities to learn and explore new skills. Job duties include assisting with writing, editing, and proofreading for all different types of media to support Northrop’s programming of dance, music, comedy, academic, and engagement performances and activities, as well as the Northrop building, Bistro, and events hosted by Northrop’s resident departments or outside promoters/renters. The Communications Intern follows all Northrop and UMN brand and style guides, and upholds the mission, vision, and values of Northrop and the UMN at all times.
This is a part-time ongoing flexible U of M student position, 15-20 hours per week arranged around the student's schedule between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, Mon–Fri during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during summer and school breaks. This position requires a currently enrolled UMN student majoring in communications, English, journalism, public relations, advertising, marketing, performing arts, or related field, with the capacity to work some weekends and/or evening hours as needed based on the schedule of Northrop’s events.

Marketing Intern

The Marketing Intern is a member of the Business Development & Customer Support team and assists a variety of projects that support the mission, vision, and values of Northrop, while giving the intern opportunities to learn and explore new skills. Job duties support Northrop’s programming of dance, music, comedy, academic, and engagement performances and activities, as well as the Northrop building, Bistro, and events hosted by Northrop’s resident departments or outside promoters/renters. The Marketing Intern duties include executing marketing and communications strategies and tactics to meet goals, as well as creating and scheduling organic and paid campaign content for Northrop’s social media accounts to promote events and activities, generate ticket sales and event attendance, deepen engagement, and grow Northrop’s audiences.The Marketing Intern follows all Northrop and UMN brand and style guides, and upholds the mission, vision, and values of Northrop and the UMN at all times.
