Northrop and The Museum of Russian Art offer this special event

Northrop and The Museum of Russian Art are excited to present Northrop patrons with the chance to experience the Bolshoi Ballet performance of Swan Lake during a memorable weekend trip to Chicago June 12-14, 2020. Hosted at the Auditorium Theater, Chicago will be one of only two U.S cities hosting the Bolshoi in 2020. The Bolshoi Ballet, always a rare treat for U.S audiences, has not been seen at Northrop since 2004 with their performance of Romeo and Juliet.

The Bolshoi Ballet Founded in 1776, the Bolshoi is one of the world’s oldest ballet companies. Today, seeing the Bolshoi perform is a unique opportunity- the Bolshoi’s 2020 tour to Chicago will be the first time the company has performed in the United States since 2017.  Considered to be “the world's greatest dance company,” the Bolshoi is known for combining meticulous technique and striking athleticism with expressiveness and dramatic intensity. Everything about the Bolshoi is grand — its history, its size, its full-length productions that dazzle with spectacle and dramatic realism, and its bravura dance.

Itinerary Participants will enjoy a weekend at the luxurious Langham Chicago Hotel, located just minutes from the Loop, Grant Park, Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park and Navy Pier. In addition to seeing the Bolshoi, this weekend includes a considerable array of activities that Chicago has to offer. A quick look at the weekend’s itinerary includes:

  1. Lunch at Terzo Piano
  2. Private tour of the Art Institute of Chicago
  3. Architectural River Cruise
  4. Guided walking tour of Millennium Park
  5. Dinner at Russian Tea Time restaurant
  6. Bolshoi Ballet performance of Swan Lake from Dress Circle seats
