Dan Newton's Cafe Accordion Orchestra (CAO) was created by Dan Newton in 1995 after he heard a style which he refered to as "faux Parisian elevator music." His band now performs an eclectic mix full of French flare, Latin heat, and Bohemian attitude. The heart of their repertoire is the romantic, gypsy-influenced valse-musette. Swing, ballads, tangos, cha chas, rumbas, and cumbias complement the musettes to create a wonderfully varied show, injected with good humor and expressive abandon. Musicianship and passion for performance makes them an entertaining concert act as well as a great dance band.
