UMN Organist Emily Roth performs a varied program with music by César Franck (Choral in A minor, FWV 40), Brenda Portman (Fantasy on ‘Ubi Caritas’), Paul Hindemith (Sonate II, Lebhaft, Ruhig bewegt, and Fugue Mäßig bewegt, heiter), Olivier Messiaen (Dieu est Simple from Méditations sur le Mystère de la Sainte Trinité), and Louis Vierne (Clair de Lune from 24 Pièces de Fantaisie, Deuxième Suite, Op. 53). She will close her work with Charles-Marie Widor’s Final from Symphonie no. 2. This recital is presented in partial fulfillment of requirements for the degree Master of Music in Organ Performance at the School of Music where Roth studies with University Organist Dean Billmeyer.
