Pay What You Wish

American College Dance Association Welcome Performance

The University of Minnesota (UMN) Dance Program and Northrop welcome their community from across Minnesota, as well as college and university dance programs throughout the region, to Minnesota Moves, a showcase of dance artists who make their artistic home in the Twin Cities. The performance samples the breadth and depth of concert dance created in Minnesota, from contemporary to Krump, pulsing with currents of community and social justice.

The program opens the 2026 American College Dance Association (ACDA) North-Central Conference. The Pay What You Wish performance includes: “The Edge (An Excerpt)” by Vie Boheme; “Selections from MAGIC GIRL,” created and performed by Emily Michaels King; “Arose from the Concrete: The Sound of the Abundance of Rain" by Tumelo Khupe performed by CULᐧTIᐧVATE, a TU Dance Trainee Program; "The Chilling Effect" by Kaz Sherman; "This Bleeding Heart..." by Carl Flink performed by Black Label Movement; "Dust/Fire" by Ananya Chatterjea performed by Ananya Dance Theater; and "Ferdouganal" created and performed by Joanie Smith and Shapiro & Smith Dance.

This Bridge Fund for Dance activation is funded by the City of Minneapolis Arts & Cultural Affairs Department.
