Recognized from University of Minnesota Twin Cities brochures, familiar to many new students as the stately building where they began their orientation, and a place many will complete their Golden Gopher experience as they walk across its stage for commencement, Northrop is an iconic, state historic landmark at the heart of campus. It has served as a primary gathering place for the performing arts, world-renowned dance performances, concerts, academic ceremonies, and major civic events for nearly 100 years, offering opportunities for all ages to explore, learn, and engage.
Step behind the scenes and discover the splendor of Northrop like never before! Whether you're curious about the inner workings of a historic stage, fascinated by architectural transformation, or captivated by the power of a 7,000-pipe organ, the Northrop Open House offers an up-close look at the artistry, architecture, and backstage magic of this iconic campus landmark.
