Oromo Night celebrates the rich heritage of the Oromo people with this annual cultural showcase. Hosted by the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Oromo Student Union, the event features traditional and modern Oromo dances, music, fashion and performances that celebrate Oromo history, identity and community. Oromo Night brings together students, families and community members for an engaging and educational evening honoring Oromo culture. Food served beginning at 4:30 p.m.

*UMN student tickets are free. Present U Card at the Box Office to get a student ticket.

*ALERT: Attendees who are 18+ will be required to show a valid government-issued ID to enter the building. No bags larger than a small purse will be allowed. Everyone age 17 or under must be accompanied by a chaperone who is 21 years of age or older. Each chaperone can host two minors. You will be asked to provide the chaperone's contact information at the end of the purchase process. Minors tickets must be secured and chaperone contact information provided by Feb. 12 at 4 p.m.

  • Seating: General Admission
  • Building Doors Open at East Ground Level (Church Street entrance) for Security Screening: 4 p.m.
  • Food Service Begins: 4:30 p.m.
  • Theater Doors Open: 5 p.m.
  • Performance Begins: 6 p.m.
  • Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours
  • Bistro & Concessions: Closed

Ticket Policies

  • All attendees must have a ticket to attend the event.
  • Ticket purchases in person at the Box Office are cash or credit card only; mobile devices can not be used to purchase tickets.
  • *UMN student tickets are free. Present U Card at the Box Office to get a student ticket.
  • Tickets purchased online: Check the email you provided when you placed your order to locate your digital ticket. Be sure to check your spam or junk mail folders if you do not see them.

Event Policies

  • All 18+ attendees must have a physical driver's license or ID and present that ID to security at the building entrance. (A U Card will not work as an ID.)
  • Children age 17 and under must be with a chaperone age 21 or older. Each chaperone can host two minors. Chaperone must be present to allow minor to enter.
  • All attendees will pass through a security check that will include metal detectors.
  • No bags larger than a small purse will be allowed. There is no bag check.
  • Read all Northrop policies.
