The Somali Student Association (SSA) proudly presents Somali Night 2026: Echoes From the Past (“Dhawaaqii Wagii Hore”) celebrating 28 years of community, culture and excellence at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. As the grand finale of our annual Somali Culture Week, this highly anticipated event brings together students, families and the broader Twin Cities community to experience the richness and vibrancy of Somali heritage.
Somali Night is a dynamic cultural showcase highlighting the incredible talent within the Somali diaspora. The evening will feature a variety of performances including live music, traditional dance, poetry, acting and fashion, each telling a unique story of identity, resilience and creativity.
This year’s show will include special guest performances by Nuur Caraale and Ismail Dannan, with additional appearances including the SSA Somali Dance Team and more! Join the SSA for an unforgettable night celebrating culture, artistry and community.
*UMN student, faculty and staff tickets are free. Register online or present U Card at the Box Office.
*ALERT: All attendees must be 18+ and will be required to show a valid government-issued ID
to enter the building. No bags will be allowed. The East Entrance will be the only entrance to the
building.
Know Before You Go
Event Information
- Building Opens: 4:30 p.m. Use the East entrance nearest Church Street.
- Seating: General Admission, Ticket Required
- Theater Doors Open: 5 p.m.
- Program Begins: 5:30 pm
- Tickets: Check the email you provided when you placed your order to locate your digital ticket. Be sure to check your spam or junk mail folders if you do not see them.

Event Policies
- All attendees must have a ticket to attend the event.
- Ticket purchases in person at the Box Office are cash or credit card only; mobile devices can not be used to purchase tickets.
- UMN student tickets are free. Present U Card to enter with a student ticket.
- All 18+ attendees must have a physical driver's license or other government-issued photo ID and present that ID to security at the building entrance. (A U Card will not work as an ID.)
- All attendees will pass through a security check that will include metal detectors.
- No bags allowed. There is no bag check.
- Read all Northrop policies.
