Human in the Data

Data is ubiquitous in our world. But, when abstracted by numbers and numerical proxies, individuals and social relationships are obscured to both researchers and end users. Each year, eight graduate students at the University of Minnesota receive MnDRIVE Human in the Data Fellowships. While each undertake vastly different projects across the five MnDRIVE areas of robotics, global food, environment, brain conditions, and cancer clinical trials, their goals are not altogether dissimilar: to understand the humanistic implications of their data, and to use their time in the cohort to support this non-traditional scholarship and engagement work. 

At this Symposium, several current MnDRIVE Human in the Data fellows will present their research projects and discuss the communities their work touches.

2022 FELLOWSHIP INFORMATION SESSION
Immediately following the event, we invite interested graduate students to join us for a brief information session on the 2022 MnDRIVE Human in the Data Fellowship application timeline and requirements. A recording of this session will be available approximately one week after the event for those unable to attend.
